Alan Jones & Associates produce a benefits review for each of their survey groups.

Once a year we take all of this data and produce a UK-wide overview of benefit packages. Nearly 500 companies contributed information on their key benefits this year.

The UK Benefits Report is based on a large and stable population and a particularly valuable section of this report contains trend analysis showing changes in UK benefit packages in the past nine years including changes to pension contributions for both employee and employer in money purchase and final salary schemes.

The survey was comprehensively revamped and updated in 2005 and, in addition to looking at particular benefits in a much more structured way (especially pension schemes and sick pay) each benefit is analysed for six staff groups: Director/Senior Management, Management, Professional/Scientific, Field Sales, Secretarial/Clerical and Shop Floor. New questions were added in 2006.

Benefits covered include:

  • Holidays (including service related holiday accrual)
  • Hours of Work
  • Pension Schemes (contributions - defined benefit and defined contribution - accrual rates, spouses' pension, etc.)
  • Life Insurance
  • Retirement Age
  • Sick Pay (including progression with service)
  • Permanent Health Insurance
  • Medical Insurance (includes scope of schemes, providers, insurance excess)
  • Dental Schemes
  • Notice Periods
